“Kidung Bhairawa Prabhu” was not born from melody alone, but from silence — from the space where ego trembles and illusion begins to crack.
This work moves within the current of Bhairawa: the fierce presence that does not comfort, but awakens. Not destruction for chaos, but dissolution of false identity. Not darkness as evil, but darkness as the womb of transformation.
The kidung within this composition is a chant of surrender — a confrontation with the shadow self, a ritual of inner burning. Every verse, every invocation, is meant to echo the process of ego death and spiritual unveiling.
What follows is not merely an explanation of lyrics, but a passage into the symbolic fire behind them.
Enter with awareness.

LYRIC EXPLANATION
INTRO / PROLOGUE (Basa Bali Alus – Sakral)
Rahayu, Rahayu, Rahayu…
Sang Bhairawa Prabhu,
Titiang nyujur bakti ring Paduka,
Saking jero palebon rahasya,
Mugi nugraha ningsih Pinaka petunjuk citta.
This prologue is a sacred invocation. The repeated word “Rahayu” establishes a protective and auspicious space before the spiritual journey begins. The speaker humbly offers devotion (bakti) to Bhairawa Prabhu, not as a distant deity, but as an inner cosmic principle residing within the deepest mystery of consciousness. The request is not for power or miracles, but for nugraha ningsih — compassionate guidance for the heart (citta).
This sets the tone: the song is a path of inner transformation, not worship based on fear.
VERSE I
In silence of the midnight rite,
I walk the path without a name.
The veil of fear dissolves in fire,
My ego burns, my soul reclaimed.
Verse I describes the beginning of inner initiation. “Midnight rite” symbolizes the threshold between ignorance and awakening. Walking “without a name” reflects ego dissolution. Fear is burned in fire, meaning suffering becomes the fuel for self-realization. The soul is not created anew, but reclaimed — returning to its original truth.
PRE-CHORUS I
From death to life, from pain to grace,
Through sacred fire, I see Thy face.
No light, no dark — just one embrace,
The Bhairawa’s eternal space.
This section expresses non-duality. Death and life, pain and grace are no longer opposites. Through sacred fire (inner tapas), duality dissolves. Bhairawa is experienced not as light or darkness, but as the space that contains both.
CHORUS I
Om Bhairavaaya Swaha!
Lord of Time, Devourer of Illusion,
You are the flame that cuts the chain —
Liberator of the bound soul’s delusion.
The mantra “Om Bhairavaaya Swaha” is the core surrender. Bhairawa is addressed as the Lord of Time (Kala) and Devourer of Illusion. He is not destructive in a negative sense, but liberating — cutting the chains of false identity and ignorance.
VERSE II
Crimson winds and skulls around,
Symbols lost to eyes unwise,
But in the heart, where silence reigns,
I merge with truth beyond disguise.
Here, outer symbols (skulls, crimson winds) are acknowledged as misunderstood by the unprepared. True realization does not occur in external rituals but in the silent heart. The seeker merges with truth beyond appearances.
PRE-CHORUS II
From form to void, from sound to still,
Through every scar, I find Thy will.
No more seeking, no more fear,
For Bhairawa’s breath is always near.
The transition from form to void indicates liberation from attachment. Seeking ends, fear dissolves. Bhairawa is no longer outside — His breath is the seeker’s own awareness.
CHORUS II
Om Bhairavaaya Swaha!
Break the form, unveil the flame,
You are the whisper in the void,
Calling the seeker with no name.
This chorus emphasizes transformation. Breaking form means destroying false structures of identity. Bhairawa calls the seeker who has already abandoned names, labels, and ego.
BRIDGE (Puja & Mantra Bhairawa)
KAWIT (Opening Invocation)
Om Swastyastu ring Hyang Bhairawa Prabhu,
Sang Wisesa tan kacelep olih rahayu lan sangsaya,
Saking rahina murni, mrasidaya ring peteng nirmala,
Anut lakuing tattwa, nyenengang ring kawisesan rasa.
Explanation
The Kawit serves as the ritual opening, addressing Bhairawa not as a moral or doctrinal figure, but as a cosmic awareness beyond duality. Light and darkness are presented as complementary expressions of the same essence, not as opposing forces.
MANTRA INTI (Core Chant – Sanskrit)
Om Bhairawaya Namah, Kala-Rupaaya Swaha
Om Krodha-Kalika Bhairawiyei Hrim Phat
Explanation
This core mantra acts as the vibrational center of the ritual. Bhairawa is invoked as Kala (time), the force that dissolves ego, false identity, and attachment. The aspect of wrath is not worldly anger, but a transformative energy that cuts through illusion.
PANGAWAK (Middle Section)
Prabhu Bhairawa, Sang Pralaya Nirmala,
Angayunin mrana ring jiwatma, ngalahang andakara rasa,
Tan ana suci, tan ana dosa —
hyang anom, hyang taya,
Sang atma ngametuang papasangan:
ring rasa adnyana manggala.
Explanation
The Pangawak represents the phase of inner confrontation. Bhairawa appears as a force of pralaya—purifying destruction—that symbolically “kills” the old ego so that renewed awareness may arise. Moral categories dissolve, allowing direct experience of true consciousness.
MANTRA PUNCAK (Ritual Climax)
Om Krim Bhairawa Samhara Rakta-Netra Vajra-Danda Namah
Sarvam Bhairawam Maya – Aham Bhairawah Asmi
Explanation
This is the climax of the ritual. The declaration “I am Bhairawa” is not an assertion of ego, but the erasure of personal identity. There is no longer a worshipper and the worshipped—only consciousness itself remains.
PAMUPUT (Closing / Sealing)
Nyantosang ring murni ning citta,
Antuk jnana siddhi, mamargi ring moksha,
Om Cidānanda Rūpah Shivoham, Bhairawoham.
Om Namah Shivaya Om
Explanation
The Pamuput seals the ritual with grounding and stillness. After dissolution and unification, awareness settles into inner clarity, moving toward liberation (moksha).
PRE-CHORUS III (Reinforcement)
From death to life, from pain to grace,
Through sacred fire, I see Thy face.
No light, no dark — just one embrace,
The Bhairawa’s eternal space.
This repetition reinforces the realization. Duality is fully dissolved, and Bhairawa’s space is eternal awareness.
CHORUS I + II (REPRISE)
Om Bhairavaaya Swaha!
Lord of Time, Devourer of Illusion,
Om Bhairavaaya Swaha!
Break the form, unveil the flame,
The reprise acts as affirmation. The seeker stands firmly in transformation, no longer resisting dissolution.
CLOSING / EPILOGUE
Sang Bhairawa Prabhu,
Suksma ring petunjuk Paduka.
Saking citta sane sampun kabuka,
Titiang lepasang ring maya,
Ngiring ring sangkan paraning dumadi.
The epilogue is gratitude and surrender. With the heart opened, illusion is released. The journey returns to sangkan paraning dumadi — origin and ultimate purpose of existence.
FINAL CONCLUSION
Kidung Bhairawa Prabhu is a spiritual map of inner liberation. It presents Bhairawa not as a fearsome deity, but as the sacred force that dissolves ego, time, and illusion. The song guides the listener from devotion, through inner death, toward realization of unity.
